Collaboration with the Private Sector is Key to National Prosperity, Says Minister Pandey

Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, emphasized that the collaboration between the government and the private sector is crucial for the country’s prosperity. Speaking at a congratulatory and welcome program organized by the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, Minister Pandey highlighted that only by fostering capital development can the nation create ample employment opportunities.

“The government aims to create a secure environment for industrialists and business owners to invest. The more they invest, the faster Nepal will achieve prosperity,” Minister Pandey stated.

He further mentioned that to attract entrepreneurs towards industrial ventures, the government needs to introduce various subsidy programs. Drawing examples from countries where flourishing industries have driven economic progress, he noted that Nepal too could achieve rapid prosperity by encouraging both domestic and foreign investments.

Minister Pandey reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a dynamic economy, free from corruption, and firmly rooted in good governance. He expressed the current government’s desire to lead the Nepalese people towards prosperity by inviting not only domestic but also foreign investors to explore the vast potential the country holds.

Highlighting Pokhara’s immense tourism potential, Minister Pandey said that the government aims to create a tourism-friendly environment through well-crafted tourism policies. He urged the tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara to set a standard of hospitality that could be emulated nationwide.

Minister Pandey also mentioned ongoing discussions with foreign airlines to operationalize Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa, stressing the importance of conveying that Nepal’s airspace is safe.

During the event, former president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anand Raj Mulmi, provided insights into the overall economic development of Pokhara.
