Completion of One Tunnel Under Kathmandu-Terai/Madhesh Expressway Marks Significant Boost for Tourism

In a milestone achievement for the Kathmandu-Terai/Madhesh Expressway project, one of the two tunnels under construction in Bakaiya and Gadhi Rural Municipalities of Makawanpur has been completed. The tunnel, stretching 1,612 meters from Nijgadh towards Kathmandu, was broken through today, as reported by the Nepali Army.

Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma virtually observed the tunnel breakthrough and expressed his satisfaction over the timely completion. He extended gratitude to all entities and individuals involved in this national pride project, managed by the Nepali Army.

Praising the dedication, hard work, and expertise of the personnel involved, General Sharma emphasized the importance of completing the project within the designated timeframe. The event also saw the presence of Major General Ashokraj Sigdel and other senior army officials.

The successful completion of this tunnel is a significant development for the tourism sector. The Kathmandu-Terai/Madhesh Expressway is expected to substantially reduce travel time between the capital and the Terai region, enhancing accessibility to major tourist destinations.
