Dead Bengal Tiger Found in Banke National Park

A Bengal tiger was found dead in the core area of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-1 in Banke.
According to Banke National Park’s Information Officer, Mandip Pangeni, a patrol team discovered the tiger’s body in the core area this morning. Based on its condition, it is estimated that the tiger died a few days ago.

“The patrol team found the tiger’s body with its hind part partially eaten by other wildlife,” Pangeni said. “It is suspected that the tiger died two to three days earlier.” He added that the tiger was estimated to be 12 to 13 years old.

Banke National Park Chief, Birendra Kandel, stated that the tiger’s death appears to be natural. A medical team from Bardiya National Park is on its way to conduct a forensic examination of the tiger.

Chief Kandel also mentioned that the Banke National Park patrol team conducts daily patrols in the core and buffer zones of the park in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
