Devghat Dham Deserted on First Day of Shrawan due to Landslides and Floods

Devghat Dham, a revered pilgrimage site, witnessed an unusually quiet atmosphere on the first day of Shrawan Sankranti this year. Traditionally, this auspicious day draws large crowds of devotees who come to bathe in the sacred waters, offer holy water, and worship Lord Shiva from early morning.

However, the usual hustle and bustle were notably absent on Tuesday, as the site saw a significant drop in the number of pilgrims. The decrease in attendance was attributed to recent landslides and floods, which have caused disruptions and heightened concerns about safety among the devotees.

In past years, the banks of the sacred rivers at Devghat Dham would be filled with pilgrims participating in the religious rituals that mark the beginning of the holy month of Shrawan. This year, the adverse weather conditions have kept many away, leading to an unusually quiet start to the festivities.

Local authorities are urging caution and have assured that measures are being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of those who still choose to visit despite the challenging circumstances.
