Discussion Workshop Held on Developing Tourism Master Plan for Sikles

A workshop on developing a tourism master plan for Sikles was successfully conducted under the annual approved program of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), Sikles Sector Conservation Office. The interactive session, held in collaboration with local stakeholders, focused on creating a sustainable and well-structured tourism framework for the region.

Tourism expert Hari Singh Gurung led the discussion, emphasizing the need for planned and sustainable tourism development in Sikles. He highlighted various aspects of tourism management, including improving tourism dimensions, fostering sustainable development and management of destinations, and building strong connections between the tourism sector and other local industries. Gurung also stressed the importance of strategizing to ensure long-term benefits for the community and the environment.

The workshop saw active participation from representatives of ward offices, homestay operators, hotels, mothers’ groups, youth clubs, and residents. Attendees engaged in discussions on how to enhance tourism practices and address challenges to maximize Sikles’ potential as a sustainable tourist destination. The event marks a significant step towards the systematic development of Sikles, aligning conservation efforts with the goal of boosting tourism in a way that benefits both the local community and the environment.
