District Hotel Business Association & IMS Services Forge Partnership to Launch Passenger Help Desk at TIA Arrival Hall

The District Hotel Business Association Kathmandu has entered into a formal agreement with IMS Services Pvt. Ltd. to set up a Passenger Assistance Desk in the arrival area of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). This initiative aims to provide seamless support to both domestic and international travelers arriving in Nepal, ensuring their safe and organized transfer to hotels.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by key representatives from both parties. Charu Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of IMS Services Pvt. Ltd., and Suresh Baral, President of the District Hotel Business Association Kathmandu, led the signing process.

Enhancing Traveler Support at TIA

According to President Baral, the new assistance desk will operate within the airport’s arrival hall, serving as a vital point for travelers to receive guidance and help. The desk will facilitate the smooth transition of passengers from the airport to their respective hotels, minimizing the risk of travelers falling prey to unscrupulous individuals who often approach unsuspecting visitors. “This collaboration is a significant step towards enhancing traveler safety and convenience. We have observed many passengers, both Nepali and foreign, falling victim to fraudulent contacts once they arrive in Nepal.

This assistance desk will provide an official and reliable point of contact to help prevent such incidents,” Baral said. IMS Services Pvt. Ltd. will be responsible for managing the assistance desk on-site, while the hotel association will provide necessary support and space within the arrival area for this purpose. The service is planned to be launched starting the first week of Ashadh.

A Collective Effort for Tourism and Hospitality

The signing ceremony was also attended by various officials and representatives from the hotel industry in Kathmandu, highlighting the collaborative effort between the hospitality sector and service providers to improve the overall travel experience in Nepal.

Charu Shrestha, CEO of IMS Services Pvt. Ltd., expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “We are committed to providing excellent facilitation services to incoming travelers. By working closely with the hotel association, we aim to make their first moments in Nepal as smooth and welcoming as possible.”

With this newly established passenger assistance desk, travelers landing at Tribhuvan International Airport can expect enhanced guidance, security, and efficient transfers to their accommodations, ultimately promoting a positive image of Nepal’s tourism infrastructure.
