Domestic Flights Extended to Eight Airports Outside Kathmandu Until 10 PM

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has announced that domestic flights will be operated at eight airports outside of Kathmandu until 10:00 PM tonight. This decision comes after the resumption of flights following an improvement in weather conditions.

According to Gyanendra Bhul, the spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority, flights using Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) have been resumed at these airports. “Earlier, domestic flights from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) were only operated until 6:00 PM due to heavy rainfall,” Bhul explained. “However, as the weather has improved, flights have been extended beyond 6:00 PM at six airports outside Kathmandu.”

The airports where IFR flights are being operated include Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Simara, Janakpur, Pokhara, Bhairawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadhi. Meanwhile, international flights to and from TIA continue to operate as scheduled.

The extension of domestic flights aims to accommodate passengers after earlier delays and cancellations due to the rain.
