Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, emphasized that Indra Jatra has already established itself as a significant cultural event on the international stage.
During a discussion with stakeholders regarding the preparations for this year’s Indra Jatra, Minister Pandey expressed his commitment to increasing the festival’s endowment fund from NPR 50 million to NPR 150 million. He reassured the attendees that his ministry is ready to coordinate with relevant ministries and all three tiers of government to ensure the festival’s success.
Minister Pandey called on all involved to rectify past shortcomings and work towards making this year’s Indra Jatra grand and dignified. The festival is set to be celebrated on Ashwin 1 (October 17).
