Emirates is set to introduce its latest-generation Airbus A350 on the Dubai–Kuala Lumpur route from September 1, 2026, giving passengers in Malaysia access to the airline’s newest cabin products, enhanced inflight technology and greater Premium Economy availability.
The A350 will operate daily on EK344 and EK345, adding to Emirates’ existing operations to Kuala Lumpur. The airline already deploys a refurbished Boeing 777 with Premium Economy on EK346/347, meaning passengers traveling between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai will have more opportunities to experience Emirates’ upgraded premium cabin products.
A350 Adds More Premium Economy Seats in Kuala Lumpur
With the introduction of the A350, Emirates will increase the number of Premium Economy seats available to customers traveling through Kuala Lumpur to 52 seats per day across its A350 and refurbished Boeing 777 services. The airline said the move reflects its continued investment in the Malaysian market and its efforts to provide passengers with a wider choice of cabin experiences.
The A350 features 32 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy Class seats. Its Business Class cabin uses a 1-2-1 configuration, providing passengers with lie-flat seating and direct access to the aisle. Emirates Country Manager in Malaysia Saeed Mubarak said the airline has maintained a strong presence in Malaysia for three decades and continues to invest in its products and services. He said the arrival of the A350, alongside Emirates’ existing Boeing 777 and A380 operations, will give Malaysian travelers access to all three of the airline’s flagship aircraft types.
Advanced Cabin Technology and Enhanced Passenger Comfort
The Emirates A350 has been designed around a modern cabin environment, combining upgraded seating with newer entertainment and connectivity features. Business Class passengers will have access to fully lie-flat seats, wireless charging and a 1-2-1 seating arrangement. The premium cabins also feature electronic window blinds incorporating the airline’s Ghaf tree motif when closed.
Passengers will be able to view digital inflight menus through the aircraft’s entertainment screens, while Emirates’ latest ice inflight entertainment system offers high-resolution 4K and 4K HDR displays with responsive touchscreen controls. Connectivity has also been upgraded. The aircraft will use ViaSat’s Global Xpress satellite network for Wi-Fi, supported by improved wireless access points intended to provide stronger connectivity throughout the aircraft. The combination of upgraded entertainment, connectivity, seating and cabin design is aimed at providing passengers with a more contemporary travel experience on long-haul journeys.
Kuala Lumpur Gains Wider Access to Emirates’ Global Network
The new A350 service will also provide travelers from Kuala Lumpur with a consistent Emirates product when connecting through Dubai to destinations served by the airline’s A350 network. Passengers traveling on EK345 from Kuala Lumpur or arriving on EK344 will be able to connect through Dubai to more than 20 destinations where Emirates operates the A350.
The network includes destinations across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and the Americas, with cities such as Istanbul, Lyon and Frankfurt among the destinations accessible through the airline’s wider network. The introduction of the A350 comes as Emirates marks 30 years of operations in Kuala Lumpur, highlighting the airline’s long-standing presence in the Malaysian market. Passengers can book Emirates flights through the airline’s website, mobile application, retail outlets, contact centre and authorized travel agents.
