The second edition of the prestigious Everest Summiteers Summit 2026 is set to take place on May 27, 2026 (Jestha 13), with all preparations now completed, according to organizers.
The event is being organized by Everest Alliance Nepal in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal, aiming to celebrate the courage, achievements, and contributions of Everest climbers from around the world under the theme “Uniting Voices for the Future of the Himalaya.”
Organizers say the summit is designed not only to honor mountaineers but also to promote Nepal’s mountain tourism on a global platform and strengthen the country’s identity as the world’s premier adventure destination.
President Ramchandra Paudel to Grace Summit Events
A key highlight of the program will be the presence of Honourable President Ramchandra Paudel, who will attend the special Summiteers Breakfast session. During the event, the President is expected to interact directly with Everest climbers, recognizing their extraordinary achievements.
Following the breakfast, a special Summiteers Rally (prabhatferi) will be organized in Kathmandu to honor mountaineers and further promote tourism awareness.
Formal Inauguration by Tourism Minister Khadak Raj (Ganesh) Paudel
The summit will be formally inaugurated by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj (Ganesh) Paudel. The opening ceremony will mark the official beginning of a day-long program dedicated to celebrating high-altitude mountaineering excellence.
Global Participation: 176 Climbers from 26 Countries to Be Honored
This year’s summit will bring together 176 Everest summiteers from 26 different countries, who will be recognized with special medals and certificates of honor.
According to organizers, the international participation highlights Nepal’s growing role as a global hub for mountaineering diplomacy and adventure tourism.
Panel Discussions on Mountaineering Challenges and Experiences
The event will also feature expert panel discussions focusing on:
- Challenges of high-altitude climbing

Chairperson of Everest Alliance Nepal, Sudarshan Nepal, stated that the initiative has evolved into a global platform for honoring Everest climbers and promoting Nepal’s mountain tourism.
“We launched this program last year with the vision of recognizing Everest climbers. The successful first edition proved its importance and global reach. With the direct collaboration of the Government of Nepal this year, we are even more encouraged,” he said.
He added that the summit has now become an international platform, strengthening Nepal’s position in the global tourism and mountaineering community.
