Nepal Tourism Board, UNDP Nepal Hold Workshop to Shape Future Tourism Strategy

The Sustainable Tourism Project (STP), a joint initiative of Nepal Tourism Board and UNDP Nepal, organized a validation workshop focused on the “Marketing Strategy & Action Plan of Nepal Tourism Board,” bringing together tourism stakeholders, experts, and industry representatives to discuss the future direction of Nepal’s tourism sector.

The workshop centered on innovation, collaboration, and sustainability as key pillars for strengthening Nepal’s tourism industry. Participants exchanged ideas on how Nepal can better position itself in the international tourism market while promoting sustainable and responsible travel practices.

Focus on International Promotion of Nepal Tourism

During the discussion sessions, stakeholders highlighted the need for stronger international branding, improved digital marketing strategies, destination diversification, and enhanced collaboration between government agencies and private tourism operators.

Participants also stressed the importance of showcasing Nepal not only as an adventure destination but also as a hub for culture, spirituality, nature, and sustainable tourism experiences.

The event also emphasized the growing importance of eco-friendly tourism policies and community-based tourism initiatives to ensure long-term benefits for local communities and conservation efforts.

NTB Officiating CEO Underlined The Strategic Planning

Officiating Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board, Mr. Hikmat Singh Ayer, was also present at the workshop. He underlined the importance of strategic planning and collaborative efforts in promoting Nepal’s tourism sector globally.

According to organizers, the workshop is expected to contribute to the development of a more effective tourism marketing strategy aimed at attracting international visitors and strengthening Nepal’s image as a sustainable tourism destination.
