FOCUSONE Payment Solutions, a leading financial services company in Nepal, has officially launched the integration of Alipay+ into the MOCO Unified QR Code system. The launch event took place in Lazimpat, marking a major milestone in Nepal’s digital payment infrastructure.
Alipay+, a globally recognized cross-border payment platform, connects over 1.5 billion users across Southeast Asia and other regions. With this integration, supported by Himalayan Bank, Nepalese merchants can now accept payments from international customers, particularly from Southeast Asia, enhancing the ease of transactions for both tourists and locals.
This development is expected to significantly boost Nepal’s tourism industry and benefit local merchants by eliminating the hassle of currency exchange and simplifying payment processes. Binod Raj Acharya, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, highlighted the importance of this integration for the future of digital payments in Nepal, ensuring secure and convenient transactions for national and international consumers alike.
The MOCO Unified QR Code now supports multiple payment networks, offering more flexibility and broader payment options. FOCUSONE Payment Solutions is set to expand its digital services further, in partnership with Alipay+ and other global platforms, to continue transforming Nepal’s digital economy.
