A “Food Festival” is set to take place at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, on Saturday, April 19 (Baisakh 6) to promote Nepali cuisine. The event is being jointly organized by the Nepali Chefs Society and the International Nepali Chefs Society to enhance the identity of Nepali chefs and promote traditional food.
According to Arun Adhikari, the coordinator of the International Nepali Chefs Society, over 500 chefs from Nepal and abroad will participate in the festival. He mentioned that the Society currently has branches in 38 countries and is actively promoting Nepali cuisine internationally.
The festival will feature 50 food stalls, offering authentic dishes from various ethnic communities such as Newar, Tharu, Rai-Limbu, and Thakali. Additionally, stalls will offer popular Nepali items including momo, chowmein, sel roti, kheer, haluwa, puwa, sisno soup, dal, curry, achar, dhindo set, buttermilk, yogurt, ghee, honey, sweets, akbare chili, and fruits.
