Forecast Warns of Intense Rain, Thunderstorms, and Snowfall Across Hilly Nepal

The country is currently experiencing the influence of westerly and local winds, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division. Additionally, there is a partial impact from moisture-laden winds originating from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, which is contributing to increased cloud cover and precipitation patterns across various regions.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the nation. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in a few areas of the hilly regions, with isolated showers possible in other parts of the country as well. Furthermore, light rain and snowfall have been forecast at some places in the mountainous and hilly areas, raising caution for those traveling or trekking in higher altitudes.

Tonight, the cloudiness is set to continue, especially in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a probability of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few locations in these provinces, with the possibility of minor precipitation in one or two places in the rest of the provinces.

The Department has urged the public, especially those in hilly and mountainous regions, to stay alert and take necessary precautions against weather-related risks such as landslides, slippery roads, and sudden storms.
