Foreign Currency Exchange Rates Against NPR: Latest Update from NRB

The Nepal Rastra Bank has released the latest open market exchange rates, highlighting the buying and selling prices for various foreign currencies against the Nepalese Rupee (INR). As of the current update, 100 units of the Indian Rupee (INR) can be bought for NPR 160.00 and sold for NPR 160.15, reflecting the marginal differences between buying and selling rates.

For the U.S. Dollar (USD), the exchange rate stands at NPR 133.20 for buying and NPR 133.80 for selling, indicating a slightly higher value for selling compared to buying. The European Euro (EUR) is trading at NPR 142.72 for buying and NPR 143.37 for selling, while the UK Pound Sterling (GBP) is valued at NPR 169.00 for buying and NPR 169.77 for selling. This trend is consistent across other major currencies as well.

The Swiss Franc (CHF) has an exchange rate of NPR 149.03 for buying and NPR 149.70 for selling, and the Australian Dollar (AUD) can be bought for NPR 88.59 and sold for NPR 88.99. The Canadian Dollar (CAD) is trading at NPR 97.44 for buying and NPR 97.88 for selling, while the Singapore Dollar (SGD) is at NPR 98.41 for buying and NPR 98.85 for selling.

In the Asian market, the Japanese Yen (JPY) is traded at NPR 8.35 for buying and NPR 8.39 for selling per 10 units. The Chinese Yuan (CNY) exchange rate is NPR 18.34 for buying and NPR 18.42 for selling, while the Saudi Arabian Riyal (SAR) is valued at NPR 35.50 for buying and NPR 35.66 for selling.

The Qatari Riyal (QAR) stands at NPR 36.54 for buying and NPR 36.70 for selling, and the Thai Baht (THB) is valued at NPR 3.63 for buying and NPR 3.65 for selling. For the UAE Dirham (AED), the buying rate is NPR 36.26 and the selling rate is NPR 36.43. The Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) is priced at NPR 28.31 for buying and NPR 28.44 for selling, while the South Korean Won (KRW) is traded at NPR 9.57 for buying and NPR 9.61 for selling per 100 units.

The Swedish Kroner (SEK) has an exchange rate of NPR 12.72 for buying and NPR 12.77 for selling, while the Danish Kroner (DKK) is valued at NPR 19.13 for buying and NPR 19.22 for selling. The Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) can be bought for NPR 17.06 and sold for NPR 17.14.

Among the Gulf currencies, the Kuwaiti Dinar (KWD) has a significant value with a buying rate of NPR 434.44 and a selling rate of NPR 436.40. Similarly, the Bahrain Dinar (BHD) is highly valued at NPR 353.35 for buying and NPR 354.94 for selling.

These exchange rates are essential for individuals and businesses engaged in international transactions, as they impact the cost of imports, exports, remittances, and travel expenses. The slight variations in buying and selling rates reflect the bank’s attempt to manage currency fluctuations and maintain market stability.
