Narayan Prakash Saud, a central member of the Nepali Congress and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced today that families displaced from Shuklaphanta National Park will be resettled promptly. His comments came during a meeting with local representatives organized by the Nepali Congress in the tourist area of Bhankepani, Shuklaphanta Municipality-9.
Saud emphasized that an issues resolution commission has been formed under the chairmanship of a former chief justice to address the land issues surrounding Shuklaphanta National Park. He stated, “A commission with full authority has been established, and it will determine the resettlement of the genuinely displaced families.”
In addition to the resettlement efforts, Saud highlighted the importance of enhancing agricultural production. He mentioned that work on the canal construction under the third phase of the Mahakali Irrigation Project will be accelerated to support agricultural initiatives. “This is a prestigious project for the country, but the pace of work has not met expectations,” he noted, expressing his commitment to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
Another central member of the Nepali Congress, Nrip Od, also addressed the meeting, stating that the party’s centennial campaign will be extended to all nine local levels and 92 wards in the district.
The initiatives discussed reflect the Nepali Congress’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by displaced families and enhancing agricultural productivity in the region. The formation of the commission and the acceleration of the Mahakali Irrigation Project are steps aimed at fostering sustainable development in Kanchanpur.
