Four Nepali sisters from the same household have successfully climbed Mount Aconcagua (6,961 m), the highest peak in South America. The four adventurous sisters from Rolwaling village in Gorkha reached the summit of Aconcagua yesterday morning (Wednesday).
To climb the highest peaks on all seven continents, Chiri Angjum Sherpa, Jangmu Sherpa, Chiring Namgya Sherpa, and Dawa Futi Sherpa have set foot on the summit of Aconcagua. They began their “Seven Summit” journey by successfully climbing Mount Everest on May 12, 2021, at 7 AM, setting a record for the most sisters climbing Everest simultaneously.
This expedition is part of the “Four Sisters on Seven Summits” challenge, where they aim to climb the highest peaks of each continent. Before Aconcagua, they successfully climbed Everest, Mount Elbrus, and Kilimanjaro. Dawa Futi Sherpa stated, “Climbing all seven peaks is a remarkable achievement. Through this journey, we want to inspire other women to dream big and pursue their aspirations.”

Following their successful ascent of Aconcagua, the next phase of their ambitious journey will bring them one step closer to achieving their ultimate goal of summiting the tallest mountains across all seven continents. This expedition, which is a significant milestone in their Seven Summits challenge, is being supported by Imagine Nepal, a renowned organization committed to promoting Nepal’s adventure tourism. Additionally, the expedition is guided by the expertise of Mingma G. Sherpa, a world-class mountain guide with an impressive track record in leading high-altitude climbs.
The team’s gear for this challenging journey has been generously sponsored by Himali, a company known for providing top-of-the-line mountaineering equipment, ensuring the team is well-prepared for the extreme conditions they will face. The combination of high-quality support and their determination will allow the sisters to push their physical and mental limits as they continue their quest. The team is not only focused on completing the Seven Summits challenge but also on using their journey to inspire others, especially women, to break barriers and pursue their dreams.
The expedition’s aim goes beyond just conquering peaks; it is about showcasing resilience and determination in the face of adversity. By pushing themselves to new heights, both literally and figuratively, the sisters hope to spark a movement of empowerment and courage, encouraging others to embark on their challenging journeys.

This climb will be more than a physical challenge; it will serve as a platform for positive change, motivating individuals worldwide to believe in their abilities and strive for greatness, regardless of obstacles. The support from Imagine Nepal, Mingma G. Sherpa, and Himali, along with the sisters’ unwavering commitment, sets the stage for a historic and inspiring achievement.
Chhiri Aangjum, the eldest sister, became part of the team during their Aconcagua expedition. She plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Elbrus in March and April, respectively, followed by Everest in April-May. She will join her younger sisters in completing their Seven Summits challenge.

All four sisters will attempt Carstensz Pyramid between March 8-14, Denali from June 2-23, and Vinson Massif from November 27 to December 8 to achieve their goal of summiting the highest peaks on each continent, as shared by Mingma G.
This remarkable feat will mark the first time in history that four daughters from the same family will summit Mount Everest and complete the Seven Summits challenge. Their father, Dorjee, was an exceptionally skilled guide in his youth. However, in 1983, while guiding an Everest expedition during the winter, he suffered frostbite and lost eight of his fingers. Despite this, he continued his work guiding smaller teams.
Dorjee had always dreamed of reaching the summit of Mount Everest, a dream that unfortunately went unfulfilled. To honor their father’s legacy, the four sisters are determined to conquer the highest mountains across all seven continents, a tribute to his perseverance and determination. Their achievements also serve as a powerful inspiration to women everywhere, encouraging them to dream big and push beyond their limits.
