There have been no regular flights from Resunga Airport in Gulmi for the past two months. According to Suman Thapa, the airport’s station chief, the Nepal Airlines aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance, and no other planes are available. Thapa noted that the last flight from the airport took place on December 19, and operations have been suspended since then. He mentioned that flights will not resume for a while.

Previously, the aircraft operated once a week on Fridays, but due to high passenger demand, it was allowed to fly three times a week. However, since the rainy season began, the schedule was adjusted back to one flight per week on Fridays.

Taking passenger volume into account, Thapa has now adjusted the schedule to operate twice a week on Fridays and Wednesdays. Resunga Municipality in Gulmi reported an increase in tourists from France and Spain since the airport became operational. The airport is accessible via a five-kilometer dirt road from Tamghas, the district headquarters. Commercial flights began at the airport on May 12, 2023.
