A tragic incident occurred on Monday afternoon in Annapurna Rural Municipality-5, Myagdi district, where the body of a German national, Weiser Astrid Elizabeth, was recovered. She had gone missing on November 25 while traveling from Myagdi to Kaski.

Discovery of the Dead Body of German Tourists

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surya Bahadur Thapa of the District Police Office, Myagdi, Weiser’s body was found approximately 160 meters off the road in the Khopra area. The discovery was made after local community members and tour guides spotted the deceased and immediately informed the police.

Circumstances of the Death

Weiser had been staying in the Khopra area before continuing her journey towards Dobato in Kaski. Police authorities suspect that she may have fallen from a cliff, though the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

The deceased tourist’s body has been transported to Kathmandu for further examination to determine the precise cause of death. Authorities are coordinating with relevant bodies to complete the necessary procedures.

The incident highlights the risks associated with trekking and travel in hilly and mountainous areas of Nepal, especially in remote regions like Myagdi.
