The government has approved a comprehensive action plan aimed at reforming the civil aviation sector. This decision was made during the Cabinet meeting on August 12 (Shrawan 28), where the operation plans for Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara International Airport were also approved, according to Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, during a press conference held at the ministry today.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet appointed Ramesh Acharya from Dhading as the General Manager of the Food Management and Trading Company Limited, and Prakash Prasad Pokhrel from Ilam as the General Manager of the Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Limited.
Additionally, the Cabinet nominated Dr. Rewati Raman Paudel, Dr. Yamuna Ghale, Dr. Reshma Shrestha, and Jagat Bahadur Deuja as members of the Federal Land Use Council. The meeting also approved the allocation of 0-19-0 bigha of land registered in the name of the Government of Nepal at Nawarajpur Gaunpalika-4, Siraha, for use by the Ilaka Police Office, Jhanjhpatti.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved for Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya to participate in the 12th Conference of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Electoral Management Bodies, scheduled to be held in Bhutan from August 13 to 16 (Shrawan 29 to 32).
In another decision, the Cabinet formed a team led by a Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Finance to negotiate a concessional loan of USD 110 million (approximately NPR 14.63 billion) and a grant of USD 15 million (approximately NPR 1.99 billion) from the Asian Development Bank for irrigation-related projects.
The Cabinet also accepted the resignations of Indu Bikram Joshi and Komal Prasad Dhamala, Joint Secretaries of the First Class in the civil service.
