The government has made it mandatory to have a guide (mountain guide) for mountain climbing. According to the Mountaineering Regulations (Sixth Amendment) – 2081, when climbing peaks higher than 8,000 meters, at least one worker or mountain guide must accompany every two members of a mountaineering team.

Additionally, for climbing any other mountains, the mountaineering team is required to have at least one guide, as stated in the regulations. The guide’s journey is a remarkable one: from a humble 750-rupee trip to a dream of scaling Mount Everest.

Starting as a shepherd in Dhunche, he has now transformed into an expert guide with mastery in three different disciplines. Meanwhile, the rising Everest climbing permit fee adds an extra challenge to the dreams of many aspiring climbers.
