Government Offers Special Fuel Discounts for International Flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa Airports

The government has announced a special discount on aviation fuel for airlines operating international flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa international airports.

In a meeting held on Friday, the Nepal Oil Corporation’s Board of Directors decided to provide a $100 per kiloliter discount on fuel prices for airlines flying internationally from these two airports. The decision follows a directive from the Prime Minister aimed at encouraging more international flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa.

Madhusudan Burlakoti, the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies and Chairman of the Corporation’s Board, stated that this initiative is expected to boost international flight operations from these airports. “The airlines will immediately benefit from the discounted fuel prices,” Burlakoti added.

Following this decision, the current price of aviation fuel, which is $1,042 per kiloliter for international flights, will be reduced to $942 per kiloliter at Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports. The fuel price for flights operating from Tribhuvan International Airport remains unchanged.

In recent days, the government has introduced various incentives and discounts to promote international flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports. A comprehensive action plan to support these efforts has also been approved by the Cabinet.
