A grand festival celebrating culture and tourism is set to take place in the picturesque village of Bandipur from Kartik 9 to 15. The event will coincide with Tihar, Nepal’s second major festival, and will feature a Deusi Bhailo competition as part of the cable car project at Bandipur Hill.
Under the theme “Let’s Celebrate the Festival with Music, Food, and Joy,” the Bandipur cable car’s promoting company, Bandipur Hill, has announced a series of engaging activities. These will include a Deusi Bhailo competition, TikTok competition, fun park, cultural fair, food festival, and a local market at the cable car’s lower station and cable car square.
The Deusi Bhailo competition will be particularly noteworthy, with a grand prize of NPR 100,000 for the winner. The second and third prizes will be NPR 50,000 and NPR 25,000, respectively, along with a consolation prize of NPR 10,000. Additionally, participants in the TikTok competition can win NPR 10,000 each for the most shared, most viewed, and best videos.
The festival will showcase performances by renowned national artists, including Ashis Rana (Lahure), Jyoti Magar, Rachana Rimal, Bimal Raj Chhetri, Yubaraj Gharti, Shanta Rani Pariyar, Resham Nirdosh, Rupak Dotel, Bivek, Dhital, Asha BC, and Rajesh Bardewa. Dance performances will be presented by Binita Karki, Samjhana Gurung, and Sabita Rana.
The event is sponsored by Bandipur Cable Car & Tourism Limited, with Drive-In Restaurant and Tourism Investment Fund Limited serving as promoters.
