Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality in Bhojpur has announced plans to host the Hatuwagadhi Festival from October 19 to November 2, 2024. The festival aims to promote local cultures, traditions, and boost tourism in the region, according to organizers Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality and the Bhojpur Commerce and Industry.
Prem Kumar Rai, Chairperson of Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality, stated that the local government has allocated Rs 3 million for the event. The festival will showcase a variety of cultural performances, with a focus on traditional dances and exhibitions of indigenous musical instruments.
One of the main attractions of the festival will be a 26-kilometer race competition. The race will start from Maibeni, the lowest point in the district at 153 meters above sea level, and conclude at Godetar Bazaar, passing through Sangkham Jorahal, the highest point in the district at 1,865 meters above sea level.
The two-week event is expected to draw visitors from across the region, offering a unique opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of Hatuwagadhi. Organizers hope the festival will help boost tourism and highlight the area’s potential as a destination for both cultural and adventure tourism.
