The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecasted the continued impact of monsoon winds across Nepal, combined with a low-pressure system over northern Maharashtra, India. As a result, most parts of the country will experience cloudy to overcast conditions with thunderstorms and moderate rainfall.
The department’s weather bulletin issued this morning warns of possible thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in many areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with similar conditions expected in parts of other provinces. Additionally, heavy rainfall is anticipated in some locations within the Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with isolated instances of very heavy rain, increasing the risk of floods, landslides, and inundation.
The Tarai regions may also experience strong winds in some areas, adding to the weather concerns. For the night, cloudy conditions with thunderstorms and light to moderate rain are expected to continue across the country, especially in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Residents of affected regions, particularly those in flood-prone areas and near rivers, are urged to remain vigilant, as water levels are expected to rise in rivers and streams. The department has advised precautionary measures to minimize the risk of damage from flooding and landslides.
