Himalaya Airlines Employees Contribute Rs. 13.2 Lakh To Flood Relief Efforts

Nepal based Himalaya Airlines employees have donated Rs. 13.20 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, Himalaya Airlines said on Tuesday. The employees of the travel and transportation company have raised the amount on a voluntary basis in aid of flood victims of the Bhote Koshi disaster in Rasuwa.

The employees’ contribution demonstrates the airline’s employees’ solidarity with the affected population and provides direct aid to employees whose family members have been affected by the disaster. The amount collected by the employees of the airline company will assist both the families of the employees as well as the government with disaster response and recovery operations.

As per the statement issued by the Himalaya Airlines, the employees of the company have managed to raise Rs. 14.70 lakh for the flood victims. From the total amount raised, 10 percent was set aside for the families of the employees who had been affected by the disaster. The remaining Rs. 13.20 lakh was donated to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support broader disaster response and recovery operations. This allocation was done to ensure that both the employees and the general public received the help of the employees’ campaign.

He presented the check to Khadak Raj Paudel (Ganess), the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. In this capacity, the latter will utilize the money to support the response and recovery efforts for the disaster affecting Nepal’s communities. Besides the financial contribution, Himalaya Airlines employees also collected clothing and other materials for donation to the affected population.
