Himalaya Airlines is set to launch direct flights connecting Kathmandu and Shenzhen, one of China’s leading economic and technological hubs. The airline announced that the Kathmandu–Shenzhen–Kathmandu service will officially begin from June 4.
The new route is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Nepal and China while supporting tourism, trade, and business exchanges between the two countries.

Flight Schedule and Operations of Himalaya Airlines
According to the airline company, two flights per week will be operated from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to Shenzhen Baoan International Airport in China. Similarly, two return flights will also be conducted from Shenzhen to Kathmandu every week.
The Kathmandu-to-Shenzhen flights will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Shenzhen-to-Kathmandu services will be available on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Boost to Tourism and Trade
Vice Chairperson of Himalaya Airlines, Bijay Shrestha, stated that the direct flights linking Kathmandu with Shenzhen would contribute significantly to expanding tourism and trade activities between Nepal and China.
He added that Shenzhen’s status as a major economic and technological center would create new opportunities for business travelers, investors, and tourists from both countries.

Strategic Importance of Shenzhen
Shenzhen, located in southern China, is globally recognized as a center for technology, innovation, and manufacturing. The city hosts several major international companies and is considered one of China’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas.
The launch of direct flights is expected to make travel more convenient for passengers while promoting stronger economic and cultural relations between Nepal and China.
