Attendees can expect a rich display of Nepali craftsmanship, with offerings such as pashmina, stonework, garlands, curia grass products, carpets, garments, glassware, pipes, Nepali paper, sculptures, metalwork, woodwork, felt, jewelry, handmade paper, paper packages, and decorative items related to the tourism industry.
Kapil Adhikari, the Chairman of the expo, emphasized the event’s mission to drive economic prosperity by increasing the export of Nepali products. He stated, “Our aim is to help this exhibition take the country forward by enhancing the export potential of our handicrafts.” The expo anticipates participation from hundreds of foreign traders and buyers, particularly from the United States, Canada, Europe, China, India, and other countries, with over 100 stalls showcasing Nepali products.
The Himalayan Expo has been instrumental in promoting Nepali handicrafts on the global stage, having previously organized fairs in various countries, including successful events in multiple states across America. Upcoming exhibitions are planned for Las Vegas from January 31 to February 2, and in Los Angeles from April 4 to 6, with intentions to expand into Canada, the UK, and beyond.
Recognized as the largest exhibition of its kind in Nepal, the Himalayan International Expo aims to connect Nepali artisans with the global market, fostering investment and trade in the handicraft sector. By introducing and promoting the unique qualities of Nepali handicrafts, the expo seeks to elevate the industry to new heights.
