On the occasion of Holi festival, NTT Docomo, Colorbath Japan, and IGC Business Holdings organized a cleanliness program in Thamel, in coordination with the Thamel Tourism Development Council. The event was part of the Clean Hero Project and aimed at promoting good waste management and environmental sustainability in Nepal, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

During the event, representatives from the organizing companies visited the Sisdol waste dumping site and informed participants about the importance of separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. They emphasized the need for long-term solutions to this problem. The project aims to raise awareness about waste segregation, processing, and environmental conservation. The event saw participation from residents, tourists, and representatives of the companies involved.

Along with the cleanliness campaign, the organizing companies are developing a mobile app that will encourage waste segregation and recycling. The app, currently in the prototype stage, will connect households, hotels, and restaurants with waste collection companies, making waste management easier and more effective. This innovative solution aims to tackle Nepal’s waste management challenges and promote a recycling culture.

The Clean Hero Initiative aims to make Nepal clean and green, with efforts aligned with global goals related to responsible consumption, sustainable cities, and climate action. The organizers thanked Dhruva Adhikari, Vice President Krishna Thapaliya, and their team at the Thamel Tourism Development Council for their cooperation. The organizers plan to expand the Clean Hero Project to other regions of Nepal and finalize the waste management app.
