The Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has signed a memorandum of agreement with the International Federation of Sports Journalists of Asia (AIPS Asia) to promote tourism in Nepal by leveraging sports and the country’s traditional Raithane cuisine.
The agreement was formalized during the 25th Congress of AIPS Asia held in Kathmandu, where Binayak Shah, President of HAN, and Hee Don Jung, President of AIPS Asia, inked the memorandum. In a notable move, Hee Don Jung has been appointed as the international goodwill ambassador for Nepal’s Raithane dish.
To celebrate the gathering of esteemed sports journalists from over 70 countries who attended the congress, the Hotel Association Nepal hosted a banquet featuring a range of Nepali Raithane delicacies, expertly prepared by ten master chefs.
During the reception, officials from the International Sports Journalists, the organizer Hotel Association Nepal, various tourism-related organizations, and the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum convened to discuss strategies for enhancing tourism promotion through sports initiatives. The collaboration aims to showcase Nepal’s rich culinary heritage and vibrant sports culture, further positioning the country as an attractive destination for international visitors.
