The Hotels and Tourism Index was a significant contributor to the overall market downturn, witnessing a sharp drop of 145.63 points (2.34%) to close at 6,053.04. This follows a strong performance in the previous session, where the sector gained 210.06 points. The sector’s index opened at 6,198.68 points, reached a low of 5,970.99, and peaked at 6,249.66 before closing.
Among the various sectors, the Hotels and Tourism Index led the market decline, showing a 2.34% decrease. In contrast, the Trading Index recorded the highest sectoral gain, rising by 1.01%.
