India in Nepal Hosts ‘Mahakumbh 2025’ Event to Boost Religious Tourism

The Embassy of India in Kathmandu organized an event titled “Mahakumbh 2025: A Blend of Spirituality and Modernism” to promote religious tourism between India and Nepal.

The event saw participation from the Nepal Tourism Board, tour operators, journalists, and social media influencers. Representatives shared their experiences from their recent visit to Mahakumbh, facilitated by the Embassy of India and Uttar Pradesh Tourism.

Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) Shree Prasanna Shrivastava emphasized the vital role of Nepal’s tourism stakeholders in strengthening religious tourism ties between the two nations.

Additionally, a special briefing session was held for 12 economic journalists from Nepal, who will embark on a familiarization tour to India from February 5-13, including a visit to Mahakumbh. This initiative aims to enhance cultural connections and boost tourism exchanges between India and Nepal.
