Confirming the incident, Nepal Police Central Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Abhi Narayan Kafle stated that the ambassador was evacuated after experiencing health complications while hiking in the Kathmandu hills. “He was rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter and transported to Grande Hospital for treatment,” Kafle said.

Condition Stable of the Ambassador

Hospital sources and police officials reported that Ambassador Srivastava’s health condition has improved and that he is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Medical professionals are closely monitoring his condition, and he is said to be out of danger.

The Champadevi area, located on the southern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, is a popular hiking destination but includes steep trails and high-altitude terrain, which can sometimes pose health risks, particularly for individuals unaccustomed to strenuous physical activity.

Authorities commended the swift coordination between security agencies and emergency responders, noting that the timely helicopter rescue played a crucial role in ensuring the ambassador’s safety.
