Tragic Mishap: Indian Tourist Dies After Fall at Manakamana Cable Car Station

A 62-year-old Indian tourist tragically lost his life after slipping and falling in a toilet at the Manakamana cable car station, located in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality–4 of Chitwan district.

The deceased has been identified as Mannu Prasad Bhatt, a resident of Palanpur in Gujarat, India. According to Police Inspector Pratik Singh from the Area Police Office in Muglin, Bhatt was discovered unconscious in the restroom facilities of the cable car station and was immediately rushed to Ichchhakamana Basic Hospital in Kurintar for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Indian Tourist Dies

Authorities have sent Bhatt’s body to Bharatpur Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Manakamana, a prominent pilgrimage destination in Nepal, attracts thousands of domestic and international visitors each year. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and maintenance of facilities at key tourist spots. Local authorities are reportedly investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
