Jawalakhel’s Central Zoo Reopens to the Public After Bird Flu Outbreak

The Central Zoo in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, has reopened to the general public from today after being closed for more than a month following the detection of avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu, among several birds.

The zoo had been closed since Ashadh 5 after bird flu was confirmed in birds including crows, vultures and ducks. The closure was implemented as a precautionary measure to control the spread of the infection and ensure the safety of both animals and visitors.

Environmental Tests Confirm No Presence of Bird Flu Virus

According to the Central Zoo administration, necessary measures have been completed to control the infection, including the treatment of affected birds, sanitation and other disease-control measures.
