Jordan Seeks to Boost Tourism and Cultural Ties with China, Says Tourism Minister Makram Qaisi

Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Qaisi, emphasized Jordan’s commitment to enhancing tourism and cultural relations with China during an interview with Xinhua on July 10, 2024.

In the interview, held in Amman, Qaisi discussed Jordan’s strategic plans to attract more Chinese tourists and foster deeper cultural exchanges between the two nations. Highlighting Jordan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, Qaisi noted the potential for increased tourism from China, which has become a significant global tourism market.

“Jordan is keen to strengthen its ties with China in the tourism sector, and we see immense opportunities for growth and collaboration,” Qaisi stated. He underscored the importance of mutual understanding and cultural exchange in building robust bilateral relations.

Qaisi detailed several initiatives Jordan is undertaking to appeal to Chinese tourists, including the introduction of tailored tourism packages, enhancing Chinese-language services, and promoting Jordan’s unique attractions through targeted marketing campaigns in China.

The minister also spoke about the recent measures Jordan has implemented to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for tourists amidst the ongoing global challenges. “We are committed to providing a secure and welcoming environment for all visitors, and we look forward to welcoming more Chinese tourists to explore Jordan’s wonders,” Qaisi added.
