Karnali Province Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel has called for investment in the tourism sector of Karnali. After observing the Skywalk in Bhedetar today, he urged the construction company Wonders Amusement Parks and Attractions Pvt. Ltd. to invest in Karnali Province, stating that the region holds great potential for adventure tourism.
“I am very pleased to witness the Skywalk here today. I hope the company will invest in the development of tourism in Karnali Province. The provincial government is ready to facilitate this,” he said. He also shared that walking on the Skywalk was a thrilling and joyful experience.
The Skywalk was constructed at Charles Point, located at the junction of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality–4 of Dhankuta and Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City–6, at a cost of NPR 200 million. According to Sunil Bhusal, Director of Skywalk Bhedetar, tourist activity has increased since the construction.
From the Skywalk, visitors can view the Bhedetar market, the scenic stretch from Dharan to Itahari, the Char Koshe Jungle, Sanopathibhara Temple, and the Sangurigadhi area. The entry fee for the Skywalk experience is set at NPR 500 per person.
The Skywalk uses 33 mm thick glass and has created employment for around 100 people, both directly and indirectly. Along with domestic tourists, visitors from India and Bangladesh also come here.
On the occasion, CPN-UML’s Head of Publicity Department Rajendra Gautam, UML leaders Bishal Bhattarai, Yagyaraj Sunuwar, and Koshi Provincial Assembly Member Niran Rai were also present.
