Kathmandu Utsav: A Spectacular Showcase of Culture, Heritage, and Stories

A two-day festival, ‘Kathmandu Utsav,’ will be held from Falgun 16, showcasing Kathmandu’s culture, heritage, tourism, traditional cuisine, and the life stories of common people.

According to Prakash Samir, the festival chairperson, the event will feature interactions on cinema, literature, and music over two days. He emphasized that the festival aims to be different from regular literary events by prioritizing the voices of common people along with experts. Discussions will focus on art, literature, culture, tourism, education, youth, knowledge, science, and spirituality, highlighting real-life experiences.

The festival will be inaugurated with poetry recitations and will include various interactive sessions such as “Sadhana and Success” with singer Shanti Shree Pariyar, “Dimensions of Literature” with writers Dhruv Chandra Gautam and Basanta Chaudhary, and “New Generation in Film Direction” featuring directors Sujit Bidari, Krisha Chaulagain, and Anil Budhamagar.

In addition to these discussions, the festival will also feature a food exhibition reflecting Kathmandu’s heritage, an art exhibition, and a book stall, offering a rich cultural experience for attendees.
