Kwholasothar Rural Municipality Declares Public Holiday for Twhote Festival

Kwholasothar Rural Municipality has announced a public holiday today, August 13, 2024, in celebration of the Twhote festival. This annual cultural festival, observed by the Gurung community in the Gandaki Province, is celebrated at the end of the months of Shrawan and Chaitra.

The decision to declare a public holiday was made during a recent executive meeting held on Saturday, as confirmed by the municipality chairman, Surya Prasad Gurung. According to Chairman Gurung, the public holiday applies to the rural municipality office, ward offices under the municipality, community and institutional educational institutions, banks, financial institutions, and non-essential healthcare institutions, as well as other associations.

The municipality has extended its best wishes to the Gurung community for the Twhote festival. Kwholasothar Rural Municipality has a significant population of Gurung residents, and the festival is being celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the district.
