Lalitpur Metropolitan City has intensified efforts to reconstruct and rehabilitate temples, shrines, traditional stone spouts, and other heritages damaged by the 2015 earthquake. The city has begun extensive repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation of these historical sites, as confirmed by Santosh Khadka, Chair of Ward No. 4.
Rajendra Maharjan, Chair of Ward No. 21, stated that approximately 15 historic heritages in Ward No. 21 are currently undergoing conservation and rehabilitation. In addition to these efforts, about 400 ponds within the metropolis are also being repaired and maintained.
Prof. Ram Kumar Panta, an expert who has conducted extensive research on Lalitpur’s heritages, noted that many archaeologically significant sites damaged by the earthquake have already been reconstructed.
This comprehensive initiative underscores Lalitpur’s commitment to preserving its rich cultural heritage and ensuring that future generations can appreciate these historical landmarks.
