A religious library has been established at the renowned religious site, Galeshwor Shiva Mandir Development Fund, in Myagdi. Located at Beni Municipality-9, the entrance gateway to Muktinath, the library aims to serve devotees and visitors.
Galeshwor Shiva Mandir Development Fund President, Dhab Prasad Regmi, shared that the library houses over 500 religious books. “We have established this library to cater to the needs of devotees and visitors at Galeshwor. Our goal is to include books on all aspects of Vedic Sanatan Dharma and to develop it into the best religious library in the Gandaki region,” he stated.
Resident Lokendra Khadka mentioned that the library would provide support for religious rituals and ceremonies at Galeshwor Shiva Mandir by ensuring the availability of religious texts. The collection includes 18 Puranas, 18 Upapuranas, the four Vedas, Upanishads, Dharma Sindhu, Nirnaya Sindhu, the Gita, Bhagavata, and more.
The library was established with a donation of Rs. 630,000 led by Raghunath Subedi from Takam, Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-7, who currently resides in the USA. Subedi personally contributed Rs. 445,000, while Tejendra Chhantyal from Gurja donated Rs. 130,000 for furniture, room management, and book purchases.
With a remaining fund of Rs. 70,000, additional religious books will be acquired, as stated by the Galeshwor Shiva Mandir Development Fund. Books from the library will also be made available for various religious rituals and ceremonies within the district. The library operates daily from 11 AM to 2 PM, targeting the needs of the devotees visiting Galeshwor.
