Lumbini Chief Minister Announces Imminent Operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport

Lumbini Province Chief Minister, Chet Narayan Acharya, has announced that the Gautam Buddha International Airport will soon be operational.

Speaking at an honor and award distribution ceremony organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Palpa Branch, Chief Minister Acharya shared that efforts are underway to commence the airport’s operations, and results will be seen shortly.

Chief Minister Acharya emphasized the need to develop a plan to connect tourists visiting Lumbini with other destinations in the region, including Palpa, Gulmi, Banke, and Bardiya, creating a comprehensive Lumbini Circuit. This initiative aims to link the hill and Terai regions, further enhancing the tourism sector in Lumbini Province.

Addressing the issue of corruption, Chief Minister Acharya assured that the provincial government is committed to reducing corruption and ensuring good governance. He also mentioned that plans costing over five million rupees will be advanced through a competitive process. Reflecting on the first month of the new government, Chief Minister Acharya highlighted some reformative measures taken and affirmed that the ongoing projects initiated by the previous government would continue.
