Lumbini Province is set to appoint tourism ambassadors to boost the region’s tourism sector. This decision, made by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Transport, marks the first time Lumbini will have such ambassadors.
Minister of Industry, Tourism, and Transport, Prachanda Bikram Neupane, expressed confidence that this initiative will significantly contribute to the development of tourism in the province. The minister also mentioned that guidelines for selecting individuals to be appointed as tourism ambassadors are currently being developed.
The ministry plans to appoint individuals with substantial knowledge of Lumbini’s tourist destinations as ambassadors.
In addition to this, the ministry is advancing the process of drafting the Tourism Development Council Act, which will govern the recently established Tourism Development Council for Lumbini. The council’s chairman (the minister) will have the authority to remove nominated members who miss three or more meetings.
