Luxury Hotel “Bandipur Hill” Nears Completion

The construction of the five-star Bandipur Hill Hotel in Bandipur is in its final stages, with plans to commence operations by May 2025. The 17-story Queen Tower, part of the hotel, will offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan range from Machhapuchhre to Langtang, as well as a scenic overlook of the Bandipur market area, providing a unique experience for visitors.

According to Roman man Shrestha, the General Manager of Bandipur Hill, the hotel aims to become a hub for adventure tourism, offering activities such as rafting, rock climbing, ziplining, and sky cycling. The hotel will feature 80 rooms, and the project has already invested NRs 3.83 billion in its lower station. Of the total NRs 6.29 billion budget, approximately NRs 4.33 billion worth of work has been completed.

Shrestha emphasized that, alongside adventure sports, visitors can also visit the Khadgadevi Temple for a spiritual experience. Additionally, the project focuses on community development, integrating silk farming and beekeeping to create a model entrepreneurial hub.

The lower station of the Bandipur Hill cable car, situated in Baralthok, Bandipur-4, spans 80 ropani (approximately 4 hectares) and includes a luxurious hotel and gardens near the Prithvi Highway. The 1,616-meter-long cable car ride takes about seven minutes, offering a thrilling 90-degree ascent experience. The first year’s special offer will allow round-trip rides for NRs 500, while regular fares range from NRs 800 to 900 on weekdays and NRs 1,000 to 1,200 on holidays.

Currently, 120 employees are working on the project, which has been recognized as a prestigious national initiative. It is Nepal’s first project to receive the TÜV certification from TÜV Nord India, under TÜV Nord Germany, ensuring international safety and quality standards. The cable car was officially launched on June 13, 2024, with a focus on safety for all age groups.

Visitors can now access the Khadgadevi Temple daily, a site previously open only on Maha Ashtami. Additionally, a state-of-the-art ‘Drive-In’ restaurant with five-star amenities has been operational since April 13, 2024, catering to both domestic and international tourists.

Other attractions at the lower station include a wildlife museum, a children’s zone, and a park featuring 33 crore Hindu deities. The entire Bandipur Hill master plan is set for completion within the next two years, with 21 of the 31 gondolas designated for passenger transport.
