A high-level delegation from the German Travel Association (DRV) recently met with Mr. Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary of Culture & Tourism and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB), to explore strategies for expanding the state’s appeal in the German market.
The delegation, on a five-day familiarization (FAM) tour, is visiting key destinations to align it’s offerings with German travelers’ preferences. Discussions focused on promoting responsible tourism, cultural heritage, adventure, and spiritual experiences.
The delegation recognized Madhya Pradesh’s sustainable tourism initiatives and suggested engaging 50-70 travel agents to enhance outreach in Germany. Educational tours, social media campaigns, and biking tourism were also highlighted as key strategies.
The delegation is visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Bhimbetka, Sanchi, and Khajuraho, along with national parks and spiritual centers. With a significant rise in tourist arrivals, Madhya Pradesh aims to position itself as a top destination for German travelers through strengthened international partnerships and tailored marketing strategies.
