Manakamana Cable Car Resumes Operations After Scheduled Maintenance

The Manakamana Cable Car has resumed its regular operations as of Wednesday, following a brief two-day closure for scheduled maintenance on December 16 and 17.

Ujjwal Sherchan, Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd., confirmed that the maintenance work focused on the tower system and was successfully completed within the planned timeframe. The cable car is now fully operational, ensuring uninterrupted service for visitors.

Since its inception on November 24, 1998, the Manakamana Cable Car has been a vital transport link for pilgrims and tourists visiting the revered Manakamana Temple, located in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, Gorkha.

The lower station of the cable car is situated in Cheres, Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan, providing a convenient and scenic route to one of Nepal’s most famous religious destinations. This service continues to play a key role in enhancing tourism and accessibility in the region.
