The Manakamana Cable Car Service will suspend its operations for two days, on December 16 and 17, to undergo scheduled repair and maintenance work.
Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Ujjwal Sherchan, stated that the temporary closure is necessary for the maintenance of the cable car towers. The service will resume normal operations from Wednesday, December 18.
Despite the suspension of the cable car service, the restaurant at the ‘bottom station’ located in Cheres, Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan, will remain open for visitors during this period.
The Manakamana Cable Car Service, launched on November 24, 1998, provides an essential transportation link for pilgrims and tourists traveling to the revered Manakamana Temple, situated in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality of Gorkha district. Over the years, the service has become a vital part of the region’s tourism infrastructure, offering convenience and scenic views to thousands of visitors annually.
Passengers planning visits during this time are advised to make alternative arrangements and plan their trips accordingly.
