The Manakamana Cable Car will be closed for maintenance from Ashwin 29 to Kartik 1, lasting a total of three days. Ujjwal Sherchan, the Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd., confirmed that the closure is necessary for repair work and to reduce cable car sway.
According to Sherchan, the cable car service will resume regular operations on Kartik 2. Prior to this maintenance period, the cable car was also closed for two days during the Vijaya Dashami festival on Ashwin 26 and 27. It is operating today for visitors.
The Manakamana Cable Car was launched on Mangsir 8, 2055 BS, to provide easier access for devotees visiting the renowned Manakamana Temple, located in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, Gorkha. The cable car’s entrance, known as the “Bottom Station,” is situated in Chitwan’s Ichhakamana Rural Municipality-4 in Cheres.
