The traditional Yartung festival, celebrated as a symbolic horse race known locally as Ghode Jatra has commenced in Pamphagat, Manang district. Following the conclusion of agricultural activities, villages gather collectively to observe this festival.
Starting from Manang Gaun in Ward No. 6 of Manang Rural Municipality, the Yartung festival promotes social cohesion, brotherhood, and community health. Recently, it has also become a focal point for attracting tourists, serving as a cultural highlight.
This festival spans five days and is characterized by various cultural activities and horse racing events, showcasing the vibrant traditions and heritage of the region.
