Fujinomiya Embraces Mandandeupur in a Powerful Partnership

Mandandeupur Municipality in Nepal and Fujinomiya Municipality in Japan have officially established a sister city relationship to promote cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and social, and cultural exchanges.

The agreement was finalized following an official visit by Fujinomiya Mayor Hitotada Sudo and his team. During the second special session of the Mandandeupur municipal assembly, Mandandeupur Mayor Tok Bahadur Waiba and Mayor Sudo signed the agreement. Nepal’s Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Durga Subedi, played a key role in facilitating this partnership.

Mayor Waiba expressed pride in forming ties with a developed Japanese city, expecting significant progress in agriculture, tourism, education, and economic development. He highlighted Japan’s past contributions to Nepal’s development and called the partnership a milestone for Mandandeupur.

Mayor Sudo described the moment as historic, believing it would strengthen cooperation between the two cities in various sectors. The partnership was initially discussed during a visit by Mandandeupur representatives to Japan in January and was officially formalized yesterday.
